The Nuns have their last home fixture of the season this weekend as Long Eaton visit Liberty Way for the first time for a fixture on the Stadium Pitch. The Nuns will be looking to carry on their recent run of good form that has seen 3 bonus point wins from the last 4 games with the only defeat being a last play of the game loss to Stourbridge. This haul of 17 points from a possible 20 has moved the Nuns up to 7th in the league with 55 points. Tomorrows visitors have a similar match record of 9 wins and 11 losses but have 4 fewer bonus points to sit in 8th position on 51 points.
Both sides had blank fixtures last weekend and in their previous outings the Nuns defeated Kenilworth 83-7 whilst Long Eaton went down to Syston 38-21 at home. When we visited Long Eaton in December the weather had a huge impact on the game with a howling gale straight down the pitch. The Nuns lost out 38-24 but came back from 38-0 down just after the second half started to claim a four try bonus point.
The Saxons travel down the A5 to take on Lutterworth as they have a run of three games to finish their season. When they met earlier in January it was Lutterworth who were winners 21-33 and they sit 2nd in the table on 74 points. The Saxons won their last fixture 58-19 over Veseyans and sit on 33 points in 7th.
The Saracens went down 47-17 at home to a youthful Earlsdon side last week in their game, they don’t have a game this week.
The Colts maintained their improved form with a 57-17 demolition of Barkers Butts in the league. They are away to Daventry this weekend in a tougher looking game.
