After a week’s break it is back to league rugby for the 1st team and Saxons this weekend. The Nuns will be hosting Bridgnorth who currently sit 2 places and 2 points behind them in 8th position with 10 points from their opening four games. Last round they lost 24-22 at home to Syston. They have a record of 1 win and 3 defeats so far but also 3 losing and 3 try bonus points.
In their last fixture, the Nuns secured a well earned 45-27 victory at Dudley Kingswinford scoring 6 tries in the process backing up their performance against Derby the week before, to secure back to back wins for the first time this season. Games with Bridgnorth have been close and well fought recently and another tough game is to be expected this weekend.
The Saxons travel over to Pinley in the league and will be buoyed by their victory over Old Salts last time out 43-19. That win took them up to 7th in the league on 7 points. Pinley are 8th and also on 7 points, they come in to the game on the back of an 87-7 defeat to Syston.
The Saracens don’t have a game this weekend. Last weekend they went down 69-5 to Barker Butts 2s.
The Colts have a home friendly on Saturday with Old Northamptonians. Last Sunday they drew 24 all at Market Harborough in the National Cup but missed out on progressing through on try count.
Team news: one change in the pack this week with, Martin Wood returns in the back row with James Lloyd ruled out through injury.
The backline has some continuity in it and remains the same as the last game.
Ryan Marsh is joined by James Moreton, featuring for the first time since returning to the club in the summer, and Tak Chawadya on the bench.
